こういうことです。

 

	特定	非特定
単数	the other	another
複数	the others	others

 

これは普通の名詞でも同じことです。

 

	特定	非特定
単数	the apple	an apple
複数	the apples	apples

 

anotherはan otherと分けて綴らないという点だけが違います。
